Dear Fellow Educators:
The Georgia Association of Accounting Educators belongs to you, and the role of your officers is to to carry out your desires for the organization. As committed educators, you enrich the lives and expand the futures of your students. Please allow this Association to be a resource to help you fulfill that noble cause. Contact any one of us for any reason – we are the temporary managers of your Association.
With the objective of helping you in your profession, we’d like to invite you to the 2018 annual meeting of the GAAE. This year's meeting will be held at the Conference Center of Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA on Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10, 2017. We all constantly and critically evaluate our courses to enhance or overhaul material so that our students are better able to meet and thrive in the changing environment that the future promises. We will benefit from what you have changed or what you see as needing change in the accounting curricula to address demands in the field of accounting.
The concurrent workshops and panel discussions presented by our colleagues and friends of the Association will focus on what works in our classrooms and how we can continue to empower our students. They will include discussion of critical content innovations delivered through classes or student activities that you see as necessary for accounting graduates to know or experience.
Please make a commitment to present at the meeting. Your colleagues will benefit from what you have to say – this annual meeting is the main venue we have to learn from each other. Our Association’s annual meeting always provides me with significant and meaningful pedagogical material. Our GAAE is one of the more visible associations of accounting educators on the web. Let us continue to keep our organization strong and vibrant. We expect an exciting and well attended event in 2018!
Your GAAE colleagues look forward to seeing you in Savannah next February to create and renew relationships. You will find an opportunity to learn, network, and discuss your ideas in an informal and relaxed setting.
See you in February!
2018 GAAE President
